Paris / Milan, 22 June 2026 – Infraneo, a European group specializing in infrastructure asset engineering, announces the acquisition of Pro Iter, the Italian engineering group specializing in complex transport and infrastructure projects, underground structures and environmental engineering.
Pro Iter: a leading player in complex infrastructure engineering
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Milan, Pro Iter and its 170 employees design and supervise the construction of road, railway, underground and environmental infrastructure projects. The Group has a strong track record mainly in Italy, including landmark projects such as the Brenner Base Tunnel, one of the world’s largest underground railway projects, and the access infrastructure for Expo Milan 2015.
Infraneo strengthens its expertise across the full infrastructure lifecycle
The acquisition of Pro Iter brings Infraneo recognized expertise in mobility infrastructure, complex structures, Building Information Modelling (BIM), environmental engineering and infrastructure project management, further strengthening the Group’s position in major transport infrastructure projects across Europe.
The combination of the two groups strengthens Infraneo’s expertise across the entire infrastructure asset lifecycle, from inspection, diagnostics and investigations through to engineering, project management, monitoring and asset management.
A key milestone in Infraneo’s European expansion
This acquisition in Italy, one of Europe’s leading infrastructure and mobility markets, forms part of Infraneo’s European growth strategy. Since 2021, the Group has built a continental footprint through operations in Spain and Belgium and through targeted acquisitions in Germany (Martin in 2021, VIC in 2024 and Schulz in 2025) and the Netherlands (six acquisitions, including Nebest in 2024, Geobest and IGL in 2025).
With its entry into Italy, Infraneo is now present in six European markets.
Backed by Seven2, a leading private equity firm specialized in supporting high-growth potential SMEs and mid-sized companies, Infraneo is strengthening its position as a leading European specialty engineering group dedicated to the preservation and adaptation of existing infrastructure assets.
Pro Iter’s management team will remain in place to support the Group’s development in Italy and across Europe.
